Did Michael Jackson sing ben for his pet rat?

yes he didDid he?the song ben was not written by Michael Jackson. It was written by 2 guys one of which was Don Black. Ben was written for the Movie sequel of "Willard", which was titled "Ben in 1972. The song was written for Donny Osmond and it was decided by Black to let Michael try and the rest is history. So, if Michael Jackson had a rat named Ben, it was well after the song was written and the song had no initial ties to Jackson... If you don't believe me, check out this link that also explains that Don Black wrote the James Bond Theme "Diamonds are Forever"http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=1408

What is the name of the song the fat rat sings at back at the barnyard movie?

How did Michael Jackson's pet rat die?

Not sure he had a pet rat. He did sing the title song "Ben" for a movie about a rat, but he didn't star in the movie.--> I remember an interview with Michael Jackson's family. I believe it was Michael's mother who, in said interview, talks about the song Ben and the fact that Michael used to have a pet rat himself. Don't know what the name of that pet rat was though...He did not write the song. It was written by Don Black and Walter Scharf for the 1972 movie "Ben", a sequel to a movie "Willard". The track was initially intended for Donny Osmond. If he had a rat named Ben, it had no ties to the song other than to be named after it. There is a lot of media spin by the family and I doubt much of it is to be believed.
