What is the gist of Harry Potter?

Harry Potter is an orphaned boy who lives with his aunt and uncle. He does not know he is a wizard until his eleventh birthday. When he gets to Hogwarts, a school of witchcraft and wizardry, he finds out that he is the only person ever known to have survived the Killing Curse. What's more is that Voldemort, the world's most powerful Dark wizard, was the one who cast said curse, and just moments prior to trying to kill Harry, Voldemort had killed Harry's parents. Harry eventually learns that he is the only wizard who can possibly defeat Voldemort, which happens in Book 7. He ends up marrying his best friend's sister, having three children (one named after each of his parents and the third after two of his teachers) and--as cliche as it sounds--they all basically live happily ever after.
