In Twilight specifically, as opposed to the whole series, the first problem is that Bella smells really, really good. the solution? Edward runs away, and comes back to 'endure' it. Then of course, there's the big secret that Edward is hiding from Bella. The solution: Trick Jacob into telling her local legends and then draw the conclusion that he is a vampire. But wait! Human drinkers arrive and they want Bella! So, the Cullen family splits up and she goes to hide in a hotel in Phoenix. Then, she gets a phone call. The evil vampire has her mother! She goes to the Ballet studio (alone) to save her mother. But it was all an evil plan to get Bella alone. Mr. Evil attacks, and it's only through Edwards timely arrival (shortly followed by the rest of the Good!Vampires) that Bella survives.
