Bilbo returns to his home where his stuff is being auctioned off, and settles down to life in the Shire once again. He loses all respect from The Hobbit folk, and doesn't care a bit. The adventurous side of him was awakened, and after that he traveled quite a bit. He also has a great deal of money, from the Lonely Mountain and the trolls' lair.

Well, a thesis statement is plainly one statement that briefly summarizes the main point of an essay or paper and is supported by the text/information provided in the work.

For example: "In J.R.R. Tolkien's novel, The Hobbit, Tolkien argues that an individual with integrity can overcome any obstacle in his path; this is represented by Bilbo's journey......"

* This thesis statement covers the main point of what the essay/paper is going to be about and what it will be in support for, it can be supported with text from the book, and most importantly it can be argued.

Good Luck!
