The Estate of Robert Palmer, she used her given name, Mary Catherine Ambrose, which is the name that appears on her birth certificate, according to her Aunt by marriage, Celia Ambrose. Mary Ambrose's musical career never materialzed in any successful way, but she apparently has decided on representing herself to the world under her chosen stage name, Mary Frances Ambrose. Her nickname, Keke, which she was known by by her childhood friends and her family, arrived from her middle name Catherine. Keke is the Hawaiian translation of the name Catherine, and when Ambrose's family visited Hawaii in the eighties, she insisted that her family and friends start referring to her by that name, according to her brother, Michael Ambrose. She even billed herself with Casting Call a casting agency when she was interested in acting under the name Keke Ambrose in 2003. She never did recieve any acting roles.
