Robert Lawrence Crawford, Jr., was born May 13, 1944 in Quantico, Virginia and is the older brother of Johnny Crawford who played Mark McCain on 'The Rifleman' with actor Chuck Connors.

Bobby did bit parts in movies and got his big break in February 1959 when he was cast in a child role in the movie, 'Child of Our Time' and was nominated for best actor. Soon after, he landed a role as Andy Sherman in 'Laramie'. He continued to act in some movies and guest posts in tv until his early 20s.

After graduation from Hollywood High, he went to UCLA for a degree in Business. He also loved the sport of fencing and often won at College Meets. After college, director George Hill had him work on the film called 'Hawaii'. Bobby had a small role in it. He began working behind the camera with George Hill, starting out as production assistant and then as co-producer on such films as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, The World According to Garp, and many others. He has also written screenplays.

Currently, Bobby works at Warner Brothers Studios and enjoys a private life with his wife and two dogs. He still makes occasional appearances at autograph shows and western festivals.
