in the "accedent"in Hawaii that evil guy(lol i can't remember his name)tries to force kaito to tell him all about the mermaid princesses,but Kaito makes himself forget all of them so the evil gut can't find anything out.They reveal this in one of the last few episodes,when they are fighting the bad guy kaito remembers this and all his memorios.this also explains why he forgot about rina and hannon.
