Jiraya named the main character of his first novel Naruto ( A name he came up with somehow while eating ramen) Minato ( Jiraya's student, the fourth Hokage and Naruto's father) read the novel and liked the name. Kushina ( Naruto's mother) also liked it, so Minato and Kushina ( who was pregnant at the time) decided to name their son Nauto
