Sakura is a medical nin/ kunoichi in Team 7. She is a hyper, smartypants ninja who posesses a second spirit: the Inner Sakura. The Inner Sakura is the spirit of anger, happiness, and mischeviousness that Sakura fills all her emotions she is afraid to express into. Sakura used to be a shy girl who was teased because she was so shy and her gigantic forehead. She met a pretty, nice kunoichi named Ino and they become friends until they began to question their friendship to the fact that they both loved Sasuke. Sakura's moves include the art of genjutsu which she learned from Kurenai, the Jonin-ranked sensai of Hinata, Kiba, and Shino. That's mostly the jutsus she learned in Naruto. In Naruto Shippuden, we find a 15-year old Sakura, stronger, wiser, and because of this she was able to overcome her weakness, the Inner Sakura (the weakness was her fear of expressing herself). She is trained by the Fifth Hokage herself and learned super medical ninjutsu, the ability to conflict confusion over her opponent's body, thus not allowing them to use their body without moving the wrong partion of the body, and other jutsus too. Sakura cares for more Naruto, since Sasuke had already gone mysteriously with the hidden nin Orochimaru. Sakura simply means "cherry blossom" and is a common girls name.Sakura is also a character in the manga Cardcaptor Sakura by CLAMP. It is a GREAT anime/manga!

"Sakura" is japenese for "Cherry Blossom". The character Sakura Haruno was likely named that because of her hair color(Its pink like the flower.)

Sakura is a popular name given to girls, typically in Japan. The name can mean cherry blossom, or bloom. That is also where Sakura trees got their name from.
