okay. so he's referring to like, a beer bottle when he says that. what do you need to write a story? a pen. or to get a story? a pen. because he's a pen and he needs a story, he's gonna drink that beer. so, it means that he's just like getting drunk.
If you think of a bottle of ink and he's the pen who's going to take out the ink and write the story it makes more sense.
Not the term does often refer to bottom As in "he needs a kick up the butt" however it originally and still does refer to the left over part of something like a cigarette butt for instance. It is not a shortening for bottom it is a completely different word that can now mean bottom.

add water to your windshield washer bottle
I think you might mean "Bottle Neck". It's an expression which often describes the flow of traffic, where a wider road is condensed into a smaller one, slowing down the flow of vehicles. Think of a beer bottle to understand the expression: the body of the bottle is wider, whereas the neck of the bottle is much slimmer and smaller in diameter. If you tip the bottle upside down, liquid will only flow out as fast as the smallest part of the bottle will allow.
A flask is basically same as a bottle In chemistry sometime it could mean a thin glas bottle in some different shapes i.e. E-flask (Erlenmeyer flask) with a flat bottom Peter the Viking

The hollow bottom has nothing to do with easier pouring but only with glass STRENGTH. Glass is weak in bending (not many 12ins rulers about!) but strong in tension and compression. The "cone" at the base is under compression form the pressure inside the bottle and this puts the end of the bottle (the tube part) into tension. If the base was flat, instead of cone shaped , it would 'bend' from the pressure and thus break.
