Middle Age people, or those from around 40 to 65 (ages vary widely depending on who is setting them), have a wide variety of interests and hobbies. While one might enjoy sitting in front of a computer playing Runescape or other games, someone else might enjoy sitting on a creek bank fishing more to their liking. Women, of course, enjoy shopping at any age, and many men enjoy meeting at a local restaurant for coffee and great conversation (not to get sexist here, women sometimes enjoy that, too, but it seems to mainly be a "man-thing" in my area). Some enjoy attending sports events while others like going to an Opera or Ballet. Most enjoy going out to dinner and many travel to places they have never been before. Many pursue hobbies like crafts and woodworking, work in gardens, and pursue other interests. It's really just up to each individual and their likes and dislikes what they do for fun!

People are not going to become smarter in their middle age, but people can always become more educated and can learn to use their intelligence more effectively, no matter what age they are (at least, as long as they are not suffering from Alzheimer's Disease, and that would be unusual in middle age).
