Most of the series was set in fictitious areas of England. There was Hogwarts Castle, Knockturn Alley, Hogsmeade, Little Hangleton, Little Whinging, and Godric's Hollow among others.

Some fictitious parts in actual locations :

Platform 9 3/4 in King's Cross railway station in London

Malfoy Manor in Wiltshire county, England

Number 12, Grimmauld Place, London

Diagon Alley, London

The wizard's pub Leaky Cauldron on the actual Charing Cross Road in London
