Personally I don"t like them. They are often open ended shock-a-ramas and many have plots that are knotless threads. Even some crypto-shock occult films have such tenuous plot lines often it is not explained away how the offbeat or impossible stuff haoppens- examples include The Lake House- not strictly speaking a Horror but certainly an occult film. exactly how the two-year postal time-warp happened and was maintained is never explained. I don"t think the guy was in the service ( possibly a 24-month tour is permitted in the Army) or in Jail or alternative Three- a Mental Hospital, though all are possible. Some of the plots fit in category three. Few Horror films have won Oscars, except possibly for special effects. take that with a grain of salt. adjust your stay-bolts, Frankie.
