What are the disadvantages of felt material?

A disadvantage of felt is it can be difficult to clean. Felt clothing can't be tossed into the washing machine, as it's prone to shrink in warm and hot water. Also another disadvantage is that it can attract moths. When felt clothing is worn (for example) the wool will absorb sweat and moisture, which are the primary water source for the moths. As the pests feed on the clothing, they can create holes in the fabric, which can ruin the garment. Hope this helps :)
