Hi I am currently doing 'Rounds' in my music therapy classes with children between the ages of 10 - 14. We have started with something easy and familiar - 'Row , Row, Row you boat'

and now we are doing a song that they didn't know called: "Ah Poor Bird". The Lyrics are:

Ah Poor Bird

Take Thy Flight

Far above the Sorrows

Of This Sad Night

Maybe you will be able to find an mp3 of it somewhere on the net.

I also do this song with adults - it has nice harmonies, a nice melody and a really appropriate song for a round. The lyrics and minor key make it a little morbid sounding but its still pretty.

Good luck... post any ideas you have too as I'm all out too!

Thanks, Pam

How the choir rehearses?

Choir rehearsals generally begin with a warmup, and will then move on to actual music. Depending on the needs of the ensemble and how close they are to performance, they may focus more on running straight through the music or touching on difficult sections or even working note-by-note if necessary.
