Al Jolson married four times. His first marriage was to a dancer named Henrietta Keller in 1907, but grew weary of his alleged womanizing and they divorced in 1918. His second marriage was to another performer named Alma Osbourne (who used the stage name of Ethel Delmar. They were married in 1922 and divorced in 1928. Not one to waste time, he met and married Broadway dancer Ruby Keeler that same year, but Ruby left him eleven years later in 1939.
His last wife was named Erle Galbraith. Unlike his first three wives, she was not in show business. Erle was an x-ray technician at a hospital. They met at the hospital in 1944 where he was performing. The next year he became hospitalized (due to the effects of a previous bout of malaria on his lungs). She visited him and they became a couple, marrying a couple months later in March 1945. They were together until his death in 1950.
