Sai is a Konohagakure ninja who used to be in ANBU root which is currently ran by Danzo. Sai is a member of Team 7 along with Naruto, Sakura and Kakashi Hatake. Sai first appeared in the manga in chapter 281 and in the anime he appeared in episode 32.

He never really calls her pretty, but it was funny because he was trying to understand how friends give each other nicknames and naruto said it was normally from characteristics so he called Sakura and "ugly bitch" -please exuse language- but of corse she got mad and he almost called Choji fat but Shikamaru and Naruto stopped him. So then he desides that you should say the oposite of what they are so he called Ino pretty.
