Is it true that Mary Ambrose co-wrote Aeroplane with Robert Palmer for his Don't Explain Album?

No. According to the liner notes on 1991's Don't Explain, Robert Palmer is given sole credit for writing the song. For reasons that no one can explain, Mary Ambrose told some people, including writers, that she had co-written the song with Palmer, per her brother Michael. The information was then included in discography listings in good faith. Also, Aeroplane was written in 1991 and Mary Ambrose did not make the acquaintance of Robert Palmer until late 1995.

What was the theme tune to the AFN programme Midnight in Europe that was broadcast most nights at midnight during the 1960s?

The reverse of the LP cover from Benny Bailey's " Midnight in Europe " ( 1964 ) confirms: Track 1 " Aurora " written by Frank Comstock with Benny Bailey on trumpet with piano, bass, and an extensive strings section. The liner notes also confirm that it was the theme music to the widely popular radio show called " Midnight in Europe " on AFN. It's a beautiful album ! .. but the original recording of the theme music for AFN's program was played by Les Brown and his Band of Reknown.
