It depends on what you mean by better...I think it is because it is more versatile, the Dual can barely produce a clean tone, the Single produces almost the same amount of overdrive as the Dual, but the difference is so small you can barely hear it.

Boomerang controllers aren't good when your using the directional controls-- like when you press forward, it can also do down or diagonal-- 'nuff said. Arcade controllers aren't any better if you are used to the Dual Shock controller so the buttons would seem very alien to your hands. In conclusion, yes-- the Dual Shock is pretty good. It's small, and it's smart. (Of course, if you think you can get used to using an arcade controller, go for it. But I recommend the good ol' Dual Shock. The arcade controllers are really expensive compared to normal controllers. Plus, it's only for Tekken.)
