Ken was a very bad kid growing up and his dad wanted Ken to learn discipline. Ken‘s dad decided to leave Ken alongside Ryu and Master Gouken. For the majority of Ken’s life was with Ryu. They both grew up together like brothers alongside their guardian/master Gouken. (Some can say that Ken was also adopted by Gouken) (Ryu and Ken can be seen as adoptive brothers) Although Ken does have a biological father, he see‘s Gouken the same way as he see’s his real dad. Both Ryu and Ken look upto Gouken like a Guardian/Father/Master. There‘s a lot of opinions about this topic but in my opinion I think the most logical way that I see is that Ryu and Ken are adoptive brothers and their guardian is Gouken.
