Is eldest coming out in theaters?

They can't make a second movie... They skipped over HALF of the book. There would be no story line for The next movie. So... Unless they start anew, I highly doubt another movie will be made... Or at least a good one.

They didn't like the eragon movie (says it was disapointing) so I don't think there making a eldest movie. Saphira grows after 2 days of hatching and there is no sense of adventure in it. to some people. It sucks compared to The Lord of the Rings. It is not lord of the rings author and is a different story. The book was more interesting.

There are too many differences between the movie, and the book, "Eragon". Story-line subjects which had their foundation in the book, were lost in movie production, making it impossible to simply make a second movie which would be true to both the second book and the first movie.

For those of us who have read the entire Inheritance series, the first movie is an obvious stumbling block to the production of an Eldest sequel if it is limited to being faithful to the Inheritance set. The only other real choice is to let the movies have a life of their own, totally separate from the books or so loosely linked to them as to stumble before the high bar the books have set in the story told.

The separate life of these movies might work if Mr. Paolini is asked to write the new series... His imagination could make an alternate Inheritance movie universe which would be very interesting to see, with viewers knowing in advance that this is a parallel work by the same author.

So when is Eldest coming out.... only after some serious discussions which examine ways to balance the negative impact on the box office caused by an altered story line disapponting faithful readers, and production of a sequel which can captivate returning movie viewers who do not know how to read. :o)

The sequel to Eragon was published on August 23, 2005

If you're referring to a theatrical version of Eldest, there won't be films made from the rest of the Inheritance Cycle series.

I have heard rumors that it is coming out in the summer of 2009 but i have also heard that it might be coming out in december of 2009.

A film for Eldest is not being made. It's prequel, Eragon which was released in 2006, did not do well in the box office therefore the makers decided not to make Eldest.

They are working on Eldest at this moment! It has been announced that the estimated release date is sometime November 2010.
