Skandar Keynes is a self-professed atheist. In a March 2006 interview with Paul Martin,* he said

I am an Atheist. I know the film's really Christian and everything but it doesn't really affect me. Oh and you know I'm related to Charles Darwin.

There's no fun in playing it safe. Why not try something a little unhinged?

I don't think he's publicy explained why he is an atheist, but most people have the religious beliefs (or disbeliefs) of their parents, so it may have come from his parents.

He is also English - British people are among the most skeptical - a lot of us are atheists!
