The song Axel F was originally recorded in 1984 by Harold Faltermeyer as the theme for the movie Beverly Hills Cop. The Crazy Frog Song, released in 2005, is one of many remixes of this popular song which contains tracks from the original Faltermeyer recording, lyrics from a 1997 song entitled Crazy Frog by Daniel Mahmedahl, sampling from yet another 2003 version of Axel F by Murphy Brown and Captain Hollywood, and elements of a German version marketed as a ringtone in 2004. The song topped the charts in many countries in Europe, but is currently also listed on AOL's list of the top 100 worst songs ever.
