It's either floor cleaner, or floor polish/wax. Her stepmother uses it to make her daughter sick....again....with as little evidence as possible to avoid being caught.
I believe her stepmother passed it off as cancer, to rationalize her illness. It's possible that Kyra subconsciously knew what her stepmother was doing, and that's why she decided to leave the camera on, and pretend to be asleep.
The stepmother wanted sympathy and attention from others, she was also mentally ill. Her husband didn't know at the time, but when he saw the tape, it changed his whole perspective, and realized that his wife was responsible.
