Barty Crouch Sr. placed a memory charm on her when she found out the secret that Mr. Crouch and his family kept Barty Crouch Jr. trapped inside. Voldemort was brought Bertha by Peter Pettigrew, and Voldemort broke the charm by torturing her with the Cruciatus Curse. At the same time that he learned about Crouch Jr, he learned valuable information about the Triwizard Tournament going on at Hogwarts.

Horrible theory, but a lot of folk believe that she was the source of the baby that Voldemort possessed. Which implies awful things as Peter Pettigrew is stated to have helped create the baby.

Who is Bertha Jorkins in Harry Potter?

Bertha Jorkins was a witch who worked for the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Games and Sports. She went missing in 1994 during a holiday to Albania, although her reputation for being stupid and forgetful meant that her head of department, Ludo Bagman, didn't think her disappearance was anything to worry about. In actual fact, it was something to worry about as she had bumped into Peter Pettigrew who the Ministry believed to be dead. Peter persuaded Bertha to follow him and he led her straight to Lord Voldemort. Voldemort broke through a memory charm that had been placed on her by Barty Crouch Sr and learned that one of his death eaters, Barty Crouch Jr, was alive. Voldemort also discovered that the Triwizard Tournament would be held at Hogwarts that year. After discovering this, Voldemort killed Bertha.

What are the character traits for Nagina the snake?

Nagini, is a long, green female snake belonging to Lord Voldemort, with whom she had a special bond. She also became a Horcrux, after her master killed Bertha Jorkins. After Voldemort's initial downfall, he uses Nagini's venom as one of the ingredients for a potion in order to regain strength, which eventually leads to his rebirth. In "The order of the Phoenix" she attacks Arthur Weasley, but he manages to survive. During the Second Wizarding War, she has to be destroyed in order for Voldemort to be finally defeated. Nagini is killed by Neville Longbottom with Godric Gryffindor's Sword, and is the last Horcrux to be destroyed.

Is there an eighth horcrux?

There are seven horcruxes: Tom Riddles diary, Marvolo Gaunt's ring, Helga Hufflepuff's cup, Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem, Salazar Slytherin's locket, Nagini (Voldemort's pet snake) and the part of Voldemort's soul that is in Harry Potter. Then there is the eighth part of soul that resides in Voldemort's body (this part of soul does not count as a horcrux). However, Nagini was made a horcrux after Tom Riddle's Diary was destroyed so only six horcruxes ever existed at once (Nagini was made a horcrux with the murder of Bertha Jorkins in the sixth book).

Why was Harry able to see the ghost of everyone who died in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire?

Harry and Voldemort's wands shared a core and when used against each other they connected, with Harry's wand forcing Voldemort's to produce "ghosts" from the last spells cast by the wand. The last spell cast using Voldemort's wand was to create a silver hand for Wormtail. Prior to that, it was used to murder Cedric Diggory, Frank Bryce, Bertha Jorkins and finally Harry's parents. This connection is called Prior Incantato. Had the connection carried on for a longer period of time, it would have produced more spells.
