All wizards were of the same order: the Istari, Maiar (demigods) sent by the Valar to aid Middle-earth in the war against Sauron. There were five of them: Saruman the White, Gandalf the Grey (and later White), Radagast the Brown, and the two blue wizards, Pallando and Alatar.
