he was kinda discovered in 1996 with his infinity album but then the slim shady lp HE WAS DISCOVERED AND FAMOUS by the way his slim shady lp album got 2 million albums sold the first two weeks I did not hear about him until 1998 with the Marshal Mathers L.P. which was instant success. The way I understand is that a radio friend that new of Eminem (or one of his pals) slipped a tape to someone that got it in front of Dr. Dre. As soon as Dre heard it the Dr. knew he had a champion in his midst and flew Eminem out to California. I am sure Slim Shady had much local success before this as he was well know for his skills as a battle rapper.
