Corbett was dropped after the fourth season because of a contract dispute between Universal Studios and Cherokee Productions (the producers of "The Rockford Files"). Cherokee was Garner's production company. Corbett was under contract to Universal at the time. James Garner later got in a unrelated legal battle with Universal over profits for the series, but there isn't any indication that he and Corbett had any conflict with one another. In the 1990s, "The Rockford Files" made 8 TV movies and Corbett appeared in some of them as Beth Davenport.
