Why was school rumble canceled?
It seemed like the anime got more attention than the manga, which turned out to be a problem for the mangaka. Unlike other animes, School Rumble CLOSELY followed the manga's storyline. So Jin Kobayashi made the last 2 volumes which had the last 2 OVA's, released together. So fans had to buy the last to volumes in order to see the missing parts cancelled for Term 3. That's from what I've saw and heard

Well, that's a tough question, I have seen manga that are like this, like School Rumble. I have seen shoujo manga that has a girl mutilating another girl with silverware, and I think it's just the editors or the manga-ka's view of the overall story. In School Rumble (Shonen), it's a romantic story at some parts but it boils down to a romantic comedy. I think it's mostly the view point of the manga's creators, assistants and editors.

Is there a season 4 in school rumble?
There are only two seasons (semesters.) This does not include the four OVA. Two of which chronologically fall after the first season, and the other two fall after the second season. These two episodes are considered the third season, but only include the last two episodes fallowed from the manga. There is no "fourth season" although there is a sequel manga series titled "School Rumble Z." This series fallowed the lives of the students after there graduation in the manga and OVA. For example Hania and Mikoto are married and have a child coming, while Hania is trying to run for mayor, but suffers from blackmail. This is just one of the major plots in School Rumble Z featuring all the characters from the Original School Rumble and their future lives they live.
