It's best to be yourself, really. But in my opinion, you shouldn't make Axl angry or anything like that. Axl has a bipolar disease, in other words, he can get dangerously angry, mad, happy, etc. Overall, DON'T MAKE HIM MAD!

If you've got the vocal range, with practice you can sing pretty much like him. There are some impersonators that do a nice job.

I believe Axl uses a technique called "screamo" and "false vocal cords." "Screamo" is a rather hard subject to explain and do, same as "false vocal cords."
