To erase the search history you have to go to tools on the top left hand corner of the internet screen. Then go down the clear history. Another box should appear giving you another option asking what you want to delete. Check off what you want to delete then click delete. In about 5-10 seconds depending on how fast/slow your computer is, in will delete what you have chosen.
