Click on "Run this Program in Compatibility Mode," then select the Windows revision you wish to emulate using the drop-down menu. The Compatibility feature allows your computer to run older software in its native environment. Some older programs and applications are prone to malfunction, or are completely unusable in modern Windows environments. Compatibility mode allows these programs to run as though they were launched from a compatible version of Windows. You can also change display properties and administrative privilege options on this screen. When you are satisfied with your changes, click "Apply" to save them.
