How did The Mars Volta get their name?

then:

and then :

'' we miss her soooo much '' - all in a single voice

and then they have started to alternate spanish with English:

' Mars, Volta! Mars, Volta '

or maybe they just thought how good would be a tour in Mars... like Tour de France or Vuelta de españa, Giro D'italia , Volta a Portugal.
