Selena Gomez had always wanted to follow in her mom's footsteps. She wanted to act. When she heard that they were holding audition's in Texas for "Barney and friends," she couldn't miss out. She got there and stood in line. She then met demi lavoto and they are still friends. They both got the role. They worked on that show until they were in 5th grade. She then went on to star in the shows: The Suit Life of Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana. Now Selena stars as "Alex" in the hit Disney show: " Wizards of Waverly place".

She recently became even more famous by singing. She brought out a new album called 'Selena Gomez and the Scene'. She worked very hard on the album and she made the right choice.

She got her first gig acting on Barney, but she really got famous because of Disney, and her role in Wizards of Waverly Place. She kept sending her resume to them, and they decided she'd be perfect for the part of Alex Russo. Most teenage Disney stars usually do get famous through popularity through teens and good distribution.
