lord of the flies are very similar , both stuck on an island,in lord of the flies the group separates into two tribes , in lost there is internal leadership conflict, there is also a monster in lord of the flies witch is a pig , i think the monster in lost is a direct reference to lord of the flies

in lord of the flies the boys stranded on island became savages and showed a dark side in humanity

in coral island the boys stayed gentleman through out and the whole thing is a fun adventure
