He has lived in various places since he doesn't age. He can't be around too long or people start to notice. Most notably in the Twilight Saga books, he leaves Bella to keep her safe in New Moon. It hurts both of them though, and at the end of New Moon, they are back together and he comes back to Forks.

∙ 14y agoEdward took the photos with him in it and the Cd he gave her. Anything that would remind her of him. If you read the books he tells Bella that he never took them but left them under her floorboards. Hope this has been helpful

I would belive that, after a decade or so, Edward and Bella would move onto different places--perhaps college.
