I am not entirely sure if Alan Rickman smokes in real life but he has smoked in two of his films called Die Hard (1988) and Closet Land (1991).

No he doesn't smoke now he has stated in an interview that he did used to smoke but gave up in the late 1980's. You can still find the interview online if you use Google to search for it.
