Neither. Designers set up fashion shows themselves. If it is a mixed show, with many different designers, and a competition of sorts, I would expect that the designers would pay to be in the show.
Fashion designers can make their own fashion shows, or they can pay a company to assign a slot for them...but they aren't in fashion shows themselves. They hire models to show off their designs.
Fashion designers typically pay varying amounts to participate in fashion shows, depending on the event's prestige and location. Costs can range from a few thousand dollars for smaller shows to tens of thousands for major events like New York Fashion Week. These expenses may cover venue rental, production costs, models, and promotional materials. Additionally, many designers seek sponsorships or partnerships to help offset these costs.
No. Obviously the purpose of TV shows is to entertain. The products i.e. commercials are used to pay for said TV shows.
Well, I'm not completely sure, but what I think is that the TV shows that are on are on because the company of commercials that pay for it. Like, you know on YTV there's always commercials of Toy products, Cleaning products, Food products, Restaurant commercials and many more? And how they always seem to repeat, even once or twice every commercial? Well, showing commercials during shows pays for the shows. That's why TV was sort of invented for commercials. I hope this helped! :D *-*
During the 90's when Friday nights and Saturday nights had the best tv shows i.e. Top of the pops, Buffy the vampire slayer, Friends. Also the best kids shows such as Kennan & Kel, Sister Sister, Hey Arnold and many more successful programmes. These shows were all shown on channels 1-5 now we pay for Sky, Virgin and freeveiw and have hundreds of channels and we still do complain about how there is not anything to watch on TV. Why is that? Because todays mediated culture has influenced society.

well they get payed for making fashion and they use most of the money for fashion shows and the rest for materials.
If you have special connections with a certain fashion designer, then you would probably be invited to many fashion shows. Of course, it is very rare to get invited if you don't know any fashion designers at all. You can also pay to get into fashions shows.

No, usually they pay to be involved in a show or to hold their own. At the very least, they don't pay to take part in the show but they lend their product to the organisers (which they usually get back, often damaged - so in a way this is a cost for them...)It's basically an exercise in PR for them because of the press and publicity they get (or hope to get) out of the fashion shows.
