I remember reading somewhere that they don't. The reasoning behind it being that Genie Francis was uncomfortable with Tony Geary's sexuality.
** No they don't get along and it doesn't have anything to do with Tony Geary's sexuality. It has to do with Genie growing up on the soap and being a spoiled brat.
The first response was TOTALLY WRONG!! Genie and Tony are very good friends and they love working together...also his "sexuality" is NOT confirmed!! He is a very private person which is why he spends the majoirty of his off time in Amsterdam. Dont' assume he is gay becaause you don't see him with anyone for crying out loud! I know they call it "acting" but no one can make love to a woman like that and be gay!!! (HAVE MERCY!)
So...to answer your question...it is a known fact that they DO GET ALONG!!!
Update: Despite your delusional fantasies to the contrary, yes, Tony Geary is indeed gay. He has lived with his male lover in The Netherlands for many MANY years now.

i have know idea but maybe things didnt quit get along between them. Some relationships dont really last long.

From all accounts......yes, perhaps. There was something there. As a HUGE fan of the show, and from doing research on the web.....Francis was NOT Aunt Bee. She was very anal when it came to some things. She didn't keep a tidy house. She was not as personable as her character. I am not sure what it was.....and trust me, I wish I knew....but she did not take to Andy....really at all. There is evidence presented on line, and in the TV Land and E! specials on the AGS.....that she did not like Andy. She especially did not like Earnest T Bass....when he was directing the show. He tried to rearrange the shoot on one show, and she flipped out on him. Francis called Andy once her death was certain, and apologized to him.....claiming that she was sorry that they didn't get along better.....citing it was "her fault". She died in the fall of 1989 in Siler City, NC.
