To answer your question on whether General Larry Platt is dead.... he is alive and well. You not have to ask this question if he was dead. With how famous he is (he was a actual general part of the Civil Rights Movement) and his little appearance on "American Idol" You would see it everywhere. You know how the news is now, there were reporters in Haiti after it's earthquake faster than there was medical help. With the news today you would know if he was dead or alive. (I actually heard that he was murdered a few night after American Idol.)
