Yes, by the hundreds. He was accused years after his death of buying songs from other composers, or "stealing" melodies and changing them just enough to avoid being sued, but the accusations don't hold up under scrutiny. A whole radio series, The Lost Lennon Tapes, was devoted to presenting in-progress versions of his original songs.

Most of their early albums included cover tunes, written by other people. Carl Perkins credited The Beatles with reviving his career, after a slump in the early Sixties, because they mentioned him as an influence. He attended a session at Abbey Road where they recorded several of his songs.

The UK version of A Hard Day's Night included all Lennon/McCartney songs, but the UK version of Help! included cover tunes. After 1965, the Beatles began to record only their own material.

Mostly, but sometimes they borrowed them from other bands, or rented them from a music store. ;-)

The Beatles mostly played their own accompaniment on their records, but sometimes used guest or session musicians. Producer George Martin played piano on some of their first records, or brought in studio sidemen. Later he commissioned string and horn players, and "A Day In The Life" employed a 41-piece symphony orchestra. George Harrison included Indian musicians on some of his songs, and Eric Clapton played lead guitar on two "White Album" tracks.

Billy Preston played piano and organ on some Beatles records in 1969; he was the only guest performer to be given a label credit.

Yes, they did. Just listen to songs like "Wish You Were Here" and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond". You'll be able to tell that they wrote it themselves.
