Roger killed Piggy because he was Jack's righthand man, and Jack immidately was challenged by Piggy and Ralph. Roger is trying to rid Jack of his insecurities so that he can take over, thus putting through the idea that he is a good, ordery leader.

Which if you think about it, is a very stupid way to show that he is a good, ordery leader, but you know, they are kids. That doesnt make what he did any better, though.

Probably not, Roger simply let himself 'go.' He had a lever wedged under a huge boulder and he simply pushed on it. He did it because he could do it and because he had an impulse to do it. Essentially all the earlier restraints on his behaviour, which had stopped him hitting Henry with stones on the beach, had been swept aside and he now felt entire free to do anything he wished, not only regardless of the consequences but without even considering that there were consequences.

Two of his friends deliberately pushed a boulder down a hill and since Piggy was nearly blind without his spectacles, it struck Piggy, throwing over a cliff and onto rocks in the sea. An awful way to go.

He did this because Roger is Jack's best friend and Jack, being insecure wanted Simon, Piggy and Ralph dead, one by one.

Jack wants total power for himself, and feels threatened by Ralph and Piggy: Ralph being the original elected leader, and Piggy being his adviser. This is why they kill Piggy and attempt to kill Ralph. Also, most of the boys dislike Piggy on a personal level, since they see Piggy as rather nerdy and stuffy. However, one could argue that they do not even need a reason to kill Piggy in the first place, seeing as their sanity is in question towards the end of the story. The normal emotions of guilt that are present in a civilized society are absent in the savage society that Jack has created.
