He was involved in an automobile accident in l967 and did miss at least five shows. prior to this, he did have some very awkward postures which seemed to suggest some sort of neuromuscular tic or a physical handicap. He was rarely seen full length walking about, may have had a limp or odd walk ( both before and adter auto crash).

He had spondylosing ankylosis. Later in his career he was in a severe accident but the chronic damage of SA was seen long before.
