I believe you are confused with the Mickey Mouse Club ( some state originally known as DISNEYLAND) l955- in various incarnations. the Mickey Mouse club had , to borrow ecclesiastical parlance , for all intents and purposes separate Introit and Recessional theme songs- as did the more Howdy-like Winchell-Mahoney time- the WM Time"s intro theme songs was Hurray, Hurrah- it"s Winchelll-Mahoney time) the recessional was the entirely different (Friendship Song) In some ways this paralelled the Mickey Mouse club use of a decelerated parting song- rather than a revved-up march.
well i don't know for sure witch movie but nearly every song ends up on a movie and/or tv show.-In "The Birdcage" with Robin Williams and Nathan Lane, We Are Family appears as the song in the opening and closing of the movie.
It's a folk song, so it has a lot of names (most of them containing the words "Grene Sleves" or similar variant spellings). The melody for the song is also used for the Christmas song "What Child is This?" and a variant was used as the closing theme of the Lassie TV show.

The host and in effect M.C. of the program was ( Buffalo) Bob Smith, not to be confused with the perhaps better known western showman- Buffalo Bill Cody. For some odd reason Howdy was banned in out household, but I was allowed to watch most cartoons, a good deal of science-fiction and such things as Topper, as well as the usual cartoons . I heard the theme song enough, but was never permitted to watch the show. Years later I found out a housemaid who was about my age had the same prohibition when she was a kid- she said her family did not approve/
Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo's 'Nostalgia' from the album "Despite The Snow". This Song is also the theme song for the TV Series "Wallander" (opening song in BBC version with Kenneth Branagh)Quiet Night, by Anna Ternheim, used on the Swedish show
Following the challenge put to the audience: (Say Kids, what time is it?) the song and audience thundered out- It"s Howdy Doody Time, It"s Howdy Doody Time, Bob Smith and Howdy, Too, say Howdy-Do to You! It was really a jingle and not a full-length song. the character had an ersatz Texan twang and it allegedly came out- Saaayy Keds- almost like the sneakers! By the way I never saw the program, for some odd reason it was banned in out house, but science fiction stuff was okay.

We're Going To Be Friends - The White Stipes
Howdy Doody was the lead, marionette character, ostensibly Western, of the long-lived Juvenile program hosted by ( Buffalo) Bob Smith from about l947-6l. The program was one of the few live juvenile shows that did not have a captive, professional cast like the Mickey Mouse Club. also unusual it did not at any time, feature cartoons. Howdy Doody was both a frontier greeting- from the Standard, How Do You Do? and the name of the title character, who had 48 freckles, a pseudo western get-up and checked shirt. The come on was ( Say Kids! What time is it? ) and Kids was slurred to sound something like ( Saay, Keds- a well-known brand of sneakers. then they would immediately segway into the popular theme song. For some odd reason Howdy Doody (not normally hyphenated) was banned in out household when I was a kid- science fiction shows were okay and such things as (Topper) I liked the vintage cars- but not Howdy. To this day I wonder why.
