Are Madara and Tobi the same?

Yes, he is. As of Naruto chapter 599, it is confirmed that "Tobi" is in fact Obito Uchiha. After a cave-in supposedly "killed" his body, he was rescued by an elderly Madara Uchiha using the Gedo Mazo statue to preserve his life. Once Madara died, Obito adopted his name and carried on his plan, under the assumption that because Rin was gone, life had no purpose.

yes since obito has the sharigan on the right side of his eye and kakashi has the sharigan on his left. But its not confirmed yet And know one knows how obito surrived for the rock that fell on him. i have a theory that tobi is obito. tobi uses his sharigan to transfer people to another dimension that type of sharigan is almost exactly the same as the sharigan kakashi used against dedira and kakashi got his sharigan from obito

Tobi is just the fake name for Madara Uchiha. He was banned from the Hidden Leaf and used Tobi and a mask to hide his real identity.
