Have you ever gotten a car insurance quote Washington based companies have given to you that you have not liked? This happens from time to time. Even if you have been paying for insurance for many years and so you know what to expect, you may get a quote on a new plan that is higher than you think that it should be. Perhaps you are not getting the level of coverage that you think you should get for that much money. Perhaps it is offering you what you want, but you still just do not feel like it is fair because it is so high.
The first step is to go to the agent and tell him what you think. Explain to him that you think that the quote is much higher than it should be, and ask him to take another look at it. In some cases, he may tell you that there is nothing he can do. In other cases, though, he may look everything over again and come back to you with a number that sounds more like what you were expecting. By going to him and asking for this, you will show him that you know what you are talking about and that you cannot be talked into paying more than you should the way that first-time buyers sometimes can.
The agent may even discover that he has made a mistake. Perhaps he put down the wrong model for your car, and the model that he wrote down costs more than the one that you really own. Maybe he quoted you for a level of coverage that is higher than what you need. By having him look at it again, you can bring these mistakes to light so that you are not paying for something that he should not have done anyway.
If the numbers are still too high, there is not really anything that you have to do to turn down the quote. Just tell the agent that you are going to look elsewhere for a plan. You are not obligated to do anything else. You could even just start looking elsewhere without informing the agent if you want to do so. If you do this, though, he will probably get in touch with you to find out what is going on, so you are better off to just let him know.
