As long as the engine is not overheating, this is normal for a radiator to do. The heat comes from the engine on the driver's side, and exits to the engine on the lower passenger side.
Do it when the car is cold if the radiator is hot fluid may be forced out when you take off the cap.
cold. If you open the radiator when the car is hot, it can spray all over the place.
I would suspect a clog in the radiator.
When a car is hot, keep the car running and add water to the radiator. When a car is cold, you can simply put the water into the radiator.
Sounds like you have radiator trouble. Have you checked the fluid level in the radiator?
It is not so much the temperature of the water but the pressure that the hot water produces. If you will look at almost any car radiator cap you will notice a warning that says something to the effect'warning contents under pressure. Do not remove when hot.'
they are to this side and that
I would suspect the thermostat is the culprit. Replace the thermostat. definately replace the thermostat, get a new gasket and all. Also, start the car cold and see if the inlet hose to the radiator warms up evenly. if it gets really hot on the engine side of the hose and is still cool by the radiator that means that there is no flow and either the thermo is installed wrong or something is clogged
what if my top radiator hose is very hot and the bottom hose is cold, would that be a bad water pump?
This is because air is constantly flowing through the radiator therefore cooling it the hose will normally be hot or warm.
Yes. First top up the radiator then fill the overflow reservoir to the "HOT" mark if the engine is hot or the "COLD" mark if the engine is cold. Be CAREFUL when you remove the radiator cap on a hot engine. The coolant is under pressure.....
Car Runs Good in Cooler wheather but when hot outside it runs for about a miniute then dies.can you please check your car's Cooling system for proper operation, such as radiator fan comes on, rotation of the fan is correct and radiator is not blocked etc?
