The hot surface ignitor is located either on the left of right side of the outside burners; in the gas stream. It has a 2 cable wire with white brading covering the wire for protection from the heat. it is monuted with either a 5/16 or 1/4 headed sheet metal screw. the old style hot surface ignitor looked somewhat like a narrow fork and are very fragile and must not be toughed . if touched ignitor will burn out quickly! the new style looks like a single loop of wire not near as fragile as the older style and last longer. I have seen the newer style warp and bend out of the gas stream, and cause ignation falure. The mounting plate can be bent a touch bringing it back into the gas steam, solving ingation falure!
