Seatbelts were not mandatory until the 1950-1960's I believe, however, you can retro-fir your classic to have seatbelts. Although they are not original, they might not be a bad idea. I would put in lap belts for 60-70's cars, because it looks "more original". But if you have a Chevy Camaro, you could put in the one belt shoulder harness. Your choice, just don't modernize it too much.
When pigs can fly, that'll happen
Seatbelts were first introduced in cars in the early 1950s. The first production car to feature seatbelts as standard equipment was the 1959 Volvo PV544. However, it wasn't until the 1960s and 1970s that seatbelt use became more widespread, thanks to increasing awareness of road safety and legislation mandating their installation.
The cars have been built with seatbelts, comfy chairs and airbags that way if you crash you will have a little bit of protection.
Newer cars are equiped with new safety devices such as airbags, anti lock braking system, and seatbelts. Yes and older cars like my restoration haas no airbags
They were not stock installed in 65. You can get kits to put them in.
If the vehicle was built with seat belts you have to have them but if it didn't have the belts from the factory your not required to have them.
