A NYS Inspection sticker expires on the last day of the month it was punched during the year indicated on the sticker. If the sticker says "2011" and the month "June" is punched, the vehicle needs to be re-inspected on or before June 30, 2011.

No. However, a receipt from a failed inspection is equivalent to a ten-day extension from the date of said failure. No other extensions, no grace period, other than the grace of god or the kindness of the officer who pulled you over.
As far as I know inspection stickers are good till the very last day, but I recommend you go in the begining or middle of the month to avoid lines from everyone else that's waited till last minute.
If your New York auto inspection is punched for June, it typically expires on the last day of that month, June 30th. Inspections are valid for 12 months from the date of the inspection, so you will need to get a new inspection before the start of July to remain compliant. Be sure to check the exact date on your inspection sticker, as it may vary slightly based on when it was performed.
